Ranthambore National Park is a world-famous wildlife destination, renowned for its tiger population. Historically, it served as a hunting ground for former kings. The Ranthambore Tiger Reserve covers a total area of 1,334 square kilometers, with approximately 384 square kilometers (about one-fourth) open to tourists as Ranthambore National Park. For safari purposes, the park is divided into 10 zones, numbered 1 to 10.
There are two types of vehicles available for safaris across all Ranthambore zones (1 to 10). The Gypsy, a popular and comfortable vehicle, and the Canter, an open bus-style vehicle ideal for larger groups. Various safari options are available to suit your preferences, as detailed below.
The Gypsy is the most popular safari vehicle in Ranthambore. This open jeep-style vehicle accommodates up to 6 passengers and can access all safari zones from 1 to 10.
The Canter is another popular safari vehicle, accommodating up to 20 passengers. It can access all safari zones except Zones 7 and 8.

By Air: The nearest airport to Ranthambore is Sanganer Airport in Jaipur, located approximately 180 km away, about a 3.5-hour drive. Jaipur is well connected to New Delhi and Mumbai with daily flights operated by domestic airlines. The flight from Jaipur to Delhi takes around 30 minutes, while Jaipur to Mumbai takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
By Rail: Sawai Madhopur is situated on the main railway line between Delhi and Mumbai and is also well connected to Jaipur. Regular superfast trains, including Jan Shatabdi and Rajdhani, operate on these routes. Travel times from Sawai Madhopur are approximately 2.5 hours to Jaipur, 5 hours to Delhi, and around 15 hours to Mumbai.
By Road: Sawai Madhopur is approximately 3.5 hours from Jaipur, 6 hours from Agra, and 8 hours from Delhi, with all routes well connected via the national highway network.
